intro
Hello. My name is Kyle Danco and this is quite obviously my website. Some force in the universe has brought you here, which I am thankful for. Having one's work seen, heard, read, or whatever else, is the least anyone in a creative field can hope for — the chance to somehow merge self-expression into some form of fulfillment, whether it be a business need or a more personal purpose. What's even better is when that builds momentum, or evolves into something bigger. I suppose how we determine the meaning of life is completely subjective, and most of us believe there is a real purpose to it. Part of that is learning things, experiencing things, but I think that another important part is sharing that knowledge and those experiences through our own interpretation. Civilizations wouldn't thrive, survive, or even exist without both parts.

influences & interests: part 1
My childhood and adolescence spanned from the 70s, through the 80s and into the 90s, so I feel lucky to have had experienced such an explosion of creative inspiration from which I've developed many of my interests and often draw from for my ideas, not to mention when I'm feeling nostalgic. I won't go into specifics now, as I plan to dedicate some time, effort and cyberspace to paying homage to that eventually, but I can briefly touch on some things. I had a fairly typical upbringing for the times in a middle class suburban central NJ neighborhood. Yes, I said "central NJ" because I do believe there's enough of a difference from north and south to earn us our own section of the state. To continue, somehow I never caught on to traditional sports. I never watched it on television, never played on a team, but I was athletic and still enjoyed playing because I wasn't forced to. I preferred skateboarding over all other sports, and I was always additionally intrigued by the other major board sports (surfing and snowboarding) and freestyle BMX. The so-called alternative or extreme sports were part of a different, more creative, culture that was more about the individual and developing one's own style and skills. I'd have to say this was still overshadowed by my love for the TV shows, movies, music and technology that defined my generation.

influences & interests: part 2
I've had an interest in drawing since I was young, of which the subject matter was usually based in pop culture, and then comic art and anime influences became more prevalent in the mid to late 90s. Although I've never been an avid reader, I've grown to have an appreciation for writing so I can better communicate my thoughts and opinions. Everyone has their preferences to how they give or receive communication. Writing may be construed as less personable to some, maybe less effective in some ways, but it does allow one to organize their thoughts and think before they speak, and be more thorough in how they express themselves, also providing immediate documentation. Communication is sharing and, again, is done however we want to interpret something. There's not necessarily a right or wrong way; everything is potentially acceptable. Certain ways may be deemed as more effective, but even that is challengeable. The arts are virtually boundless in every way, a neverending process of evolution.

outro
I like the saying that goes something to the tune of, "You only get out what you put in.", or similarly, "You reap what you sow." Both can probably fall under an old concept of "karma", which I'm somewhat split on because I believe in it from a Biblical aspect and not simply one grounded in superstition. Regardless, I like those sayings from an idealistic standpoint because, while they're not always true, they can be. Even though we don't live in a utopian society, it's good practice to at least attempt to think and act idealistically. I'm not saying we need to stress ourselves out over every minor detail, but I do think making the effort would be more beneficial than harmful. So, to back-track a little bit, I'm hoping that's what this website will represent, a record of my efforts to learn and create different types of media and still be an expression of myself in various other ways. I think it will also serve as a type of motivator because I am able to share it with anyone who wishes to see it.
